How To Care For A Human Hair Wig
Gentle washing, careful detangling and supported drying help human hair retain softness and movement.
To achieve this:
- Detangle gently from the ends toward the roots.
- Use lukewarm water and a small amount of gentle shampoo.
- Squeeze water through the hair without rubbing or wringing.
- Rinse thoroughly, blot with a towel and air-dry on a suitable stand.
How to Do A Deep Conditioning Treatment
Static, wearing a wig in the wrong way, or storing a wig in the wrong place can cause tangles.
To keep tangles from becoming a major problem:
- Try doing a deep conditioning treatment on your wig before and after wearing it. You can do so by using products like coconut oil or olive oil and conditioner.
- Donβt put too much product (hair spray) in your hair because that can lead to more tangling than usual.
- At least once per week, soak your wig in warm water. Take it out and apply conditioner liberally through all of the hair, starting at the ends and working up toward the roots.
- Let your wig absorb the treatment for about 20 minutes.
- After the time is up, rinse with warm water and follow with a cool-water rinse to close the cuticles.
- Use a soft towel to gently blot away excess water without rubbing or wringing the hair.
